Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits Liverpool‘s Premier League title win hurt him and he only got to watch a small part of their celebrations.

Arne Slot’s side claimed the title last weekend with four games remaining after beating Spurs 5-1.ทางเข้า UFABET

It comes on the heels of the Gunners finishing second to Manchester City in two consecutive seasons, and this season presents a good opportunity to capitalise on Pep Guardiola’s side’s underperforming run of fourth in the table.

Asked if it hurt to lose the title to Liverpool, Arteta said: “Yes, it hurt a lot.”

“It’s a roll in my stomach. Yes, I understand they’re a more consistent team and have a lot of the ingredients you need to win trophies, but it’s painful, yeah.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Liverpool and what they have done, their management, the consistency they have had. I think they fully deserve to win the trophy.”

“They are the better team, they have a lot of potential and they have more players to choose from and we will try again, but until next season we have to finish very strongly.”

The Spanish coach has described the pain of watching the Reds celebrate the title.

“I only saw a little bit of it (Liverpool’s celebrations),”

“It may be part of your motivation, but it’s not the biggest part. My motivation is focused on other things, but it’s painful to watch.”
